It’s no surprise that Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the biggest events for the locals of Pakistan. However, this Eid is unlike any other as it comes with many big films that are bound to rock the local box office including, 7 Din Mohabbat In (7DMI), Azaadi, Wajood, and Na Band Na Baraati. These incredible movies were all released during this weekend and had many cinematographers on a competition. While each movie focuses on a different genre, directors Meenu Gaur and Farjad Nabi’s film offers a modern look on romantic fairytales and gives the audience a fresh view on a completely unique storyline. 7 Din Mohabbat In narrates a story of a young man who wants to transform from a loser into a man of steel and be a lady’s first choice in love. Before we get into our review of the film, check out the trailer:
7 Din Mohabbat In completely replaces Sheheryar Munawar’s edgy and grunty version from Ho Mann Jahan and turns it into a goofy, confused and vulnerable hero (Tipu) who wants to become a man of steel.
Mahira Khan’s (Tipu’s cousin Neeli) usual serious and graceful character from her previous works also transforms into a poetic, funny, dramatic, and quirky young girl with a lot of dreams of marrying the one she loves. While Tipu’s goofy personality keeps the audience intrigued, Neeli makes you laugh with her witty personality and carries sparkles in her eyes which does wonders in drawing the audience’s attention.
Let’s not forget the supporting cast who managed to steal the show with their acting. Hina (Tipu’s mother)’s dramatic scenes, cries and scoldings depicted a character that sent shivers down the spine.
Amna Illyas (Gazala) also sends a strong impress by acting as a women’s activist who’s very strong.
Aamir, Mira Sethi, and Javed Sheikh also have a strong grip on their character.
Moreover, 7 Din Mohabbat In gives each character a unique and fresh look that is much-needed in the Pakistani film industry. Additionally, while songs like Ishq Lara introduces the film, Yunhi Rastay Mein and Kaahe Ko Biyahi Bides also perfectly blend in throughout the movie.
In the end, the comedy, fresh outlook and fairytale romance is just the orthodox film that will be worth your every penny. It’s a film that is worth watching with your friends and family during a perfect Eid outing.
