Noted among Islamabad’s most active student organization, AIESEC in Islamabad is hosting YouthSpeak Forum on 23rd Decemeber, 2017. One of the 4 chapters of AIESEC in Pakistan, Islamabad chapter regularly hosts exciting and inspiring events round the year for its members and general masses alike.
As defined by AIESEC in Islamabad, “YouthSpeak Forum is a premiere event that brings together both young and senior leaders to form a diverse cross-sector and multi-generational space for inspiring conversations around pressing global issues. The forum aims to create an environment where people from diverse backgrounds can cross-pollinate ideas, share insights and gain new perspectives to create actionable outcomes to push the world forward.”
The highlight of the forum hosted by AIESEC in Islamabad is the legendary singer, humanitarian and the founder of Zindagi Trust, Shehzad Roy. His music career begun in 1995 which has resulted in six albums so far. His most popular music album Qismat Apney Haath Main was released in 2008. Shehzad Roy’s Zindagi Trust is a charitable non-governmental organisation that is working on improving the quality of education available to Pakistani citizens. He has produced two documentaries; Chal Parha covers public education, and Wasu Aur Main discusses poverty, progress and patriotism in Pakistan. He has been awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Eisaar by Government of Pakistan.
A renowned Physics teacher, educational activist, TEDx speaker and advocate of quality education, he is the CEO of a leading educational consultancy firm and Executive Director of Pakistan ASCD. He is the first Pakistani selected as ASCD Emerging Leader and nominee of Harold’s J.McGraw Hill Jr Award.
His powerful convincing, public talks and writings resonated many and his self funded nation-wide project “No Teacher Left Behind” trained 20, 000 teachers across Pakistan on latest educational practices. He aims to establish state of the art global Teacher Incubator in Pakistan by 2019 and to launch country’s largest teachers support web application by 2018.
Arslan Aziz will talk about the importance of “Quality Education” for a more flexible and creative educational system. His talk will also discuss how to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Arslan struggles for an education where you are able to learn how to create and develop your opinions.
Fatima Ameer Ali
Fatima Ameer Ali’s talk discusses “Partnership for Goals” as a stronger commitment to partnership and cooperation is needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. This effort will require coherent policies, an enabling environment for sustainable development at all levels and by all actors and a reinvigorated Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.
Umer Khan Durrani
Umer Khan Durrani will speak for “Decent Work and Economic Growth”. He believes that increasing labor productivity and improving access to financial services are essential components of sustained and inclusive economic growth. There is also an increasing need to reduce the unemployment rate especially for young people while improving business opportunities.
Kiran Shah will be talking about “Gender Equality” considering gender inequality still persists worldwide, hence depriving women and girls of their basic rights and opportunities. Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls will require more vigorous efforts. This includes legal frameworks to counter deeply rooted gender-based discrimination that often results from patriarchal attitudes and related social norms.
