Actress and model Sadaf Kanwal, is a well known name in the Pakistani celebrity circuit but recently she has landed herself into a controversy and the reason why she has fallen into it are the remarks that she made about the globally acknowledged #MeToo campaign against sexual harassment.
Earlier this month, the 25 year old actress was invited to a TV show ‘Tonite With HSY’ and during the interview the actress shared her thoughts about the ongoing global campaign #MeToo that instantly landed her in trouble and she has been receiving immense amount of backlash in her way.
The famous TV show host and fashion icon, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) had forwarded a question towards her and model Aman Ilyas who was also present along with Sadaf about their take on the issue. To which the actress replied:
“You know, when you have a MeToo incident, say it then. Why are you remembering it later? I think when it happens you should say it.”
Sadaf further added: “If I ever have a MeToo incident, I would say it. And I won’t just say it on social media. I’d tell all of you.”
These comments have landed the Balu Mahi actress in hot spot as she had also mocked the campaign while joking about it in one of her posts.
Contrary to that, model Amna Ilyas has a different stance about the issue, to which HSY agreed and was also reasoned with the viewers as well. The model said that “When you think it’s the right time you will speak up. Many people don’t have the strength to speak up at that moment. You need a lot of strength to say something like that.”
Let’s see how the showbiz fraternity reacts to this matter and how far it gets for Sadaf Kanwal
