With the success of her drama Sammi, Mawra Hocane is ready to make her Pakistani film debut next week with Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2. However, these are not the only reasons why she will be celebrating. In facts, it’s the reason that made us so proud!
To many of you who don’t know, thus superstar was juggling studies with her acting career and it took her no time to rock in academics as well. LLB (Bachelor of Law) exam results are out and turns out, Mawra Hocane secured a total of 86% in Islamic Law, which is considered as the highest score in Pakistan!
The JPNA 2 actress also passed with flying colors in Public International Law, Jurisprudence, and Land Law. The best part of all is that the University of London Bachelors degree in General Law will allow her to practice in Pakistan’s Lower Courts, instead of abroad. Mawra Hocane will get getting her license to practice in the coming five days.
Mawra also plans to put her degree to good use as she intends to pursue Family Law, which is an extension of Islamic Law.
“Yes, I plan to practice and I will announce it soon,” she added.
“Divorce, for example, is too complicated for women to pursue in court in Pakistan,” she said. “The law favors a man. Similar applies to rape or khula scenarios. Our courts demand evidence for maltreatment, which is always very hard to prove. In all manner, our laws favor a man. Women are not given alimony and child support and when women ask for a divorce they automatically give up her rights to all kinds of support. This has to be addressed.”
Her sister, Urwa Hocane also shared this news on her Instagram account:
