A while ago it was reported that Parwaaz Hai Junoon‘s stylist Soomar Rehman has sent a legal notice to the producers of the movie for not giving him credit. After that, the court sent M&D Productions a notification to not release any promotional content regarding Parwaaz Hai Junoon until the next hearing.
According to local newspaper The Express Tribune, stylist Soomar Rehman has claimed that vice president of M&D Films, Osman Gillani, failed to mention his name as Parwaaz Hai Junoon’s official wardrobe stylist in the credits of the movie’s teasers that have so far been released.
“The court has passed an order and stated that the production house is not allowed to release any upcoming teasers, trailers, posters or songs without mentioning my name, at least until the next hearing,” Soomar said during an interview.
Although it was a big move, the stylist claims to only expect an apology from the producers. “I want M&D productions to tender an unconditional written apology. Apart from that, I would like to receive my due credit in the film. M&D Productions has a record of misusing youngsters’ talent.” said Rehman.
Since then, there has been a lot of speculation regarding Parwaaz Hai Junoon; some say there are VFX issues, others say it’s because of the legal battle. To find out the truth, a web-portal contacted Momina Duraid.
“There are 6 Pakistani films coming on Eid ul Fitr and it’s a reason of concern and worry for all producers as it will be difficult for 6 films to even reach breakeven if released together,” she shared her thoughts with the website.
“Ideally someone should take the step of pulling back in the interest of the entire industry and this is currently being discussed and pondered upon by all of us. I am considering to move seriously although my film is ready to go as I feel that is the right thing to do in the benefit of all films but the final decision of moving the release date is not confirmed yet,” she further added.
However, Momina concluded that she’ll comfirm the official news about Parwaaz Hai Junoon’s release once it’s decided by the court. Even though this was supposed to be one of the most anticipated movies of Eid-ul-Fitar, looks like we’ll have to wait.
