After months of waiting and fans shipping the couple together, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor and her boyfriend, Anand Ahuja has finally confirmed their wedding date. Fans can’t contain their excitement and are eager to see how the wedding will proceed. Luckily for the fans, we are going to keep you updated with the biggest wedding of the year. The couple is all set to tie the knot on the 8th of May in Mumbai at a private ceremony, said an official statement issued by the Kapoor and Ahuja families.
The sangeet and reception event will be held on the 8th of May and is expected to be one of the most grandest events of Bollywood. According to Filmfare, Bollywood starlets such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif will be gracing the event with their presence and be performing their best moves on the dance floor. Farah Khan is in charge of choreographing the sangeet while Karan Johar is said to be the organizer.
According to recent reports, designer Manish Malhotra will be designing all the bridal dresses and suits of Sonam’s sangeet night and if you know this designer, it’s a guarantee that these outfits will be eye candy.
Will Sonam Kapoor still grace the silver screens afterward?
Although Sonam Kapoor has told her team to let her be from the 2nd of May, there is no sign that she will quit her passion after marriage. In fact, she will only be taking some time off to spend some time with her family before beginning a new chapter in her life. When asked during a press conference she said, “Nobody will ask a man these questions. But why is a woman always asked these questions? Shahid Kapoor ki shaadi ho gai hain, kisine unse poocha if he’s going to work or not work? This misogynistic mindset is what needs to change and hopefully with films like this (Veere Di Wedding), something changes,” she completed.
Way to go, girl!
Other than her wedding preparations, Sonam is also busy promoting Veere Di Wedding, which releases on June 1. She will also walk the red carpet along with Mahira Khan at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14 and May 15. Stay tuned!
