Well, TEDx is coming to Islamabad once again as a program that includes a group of people who bring these incredible ideas together to share a TED-talk like an experience with other enthusiastic individuals.
At a TEDx event, TEDx combines a video and some incredibly talented speakers to spark motivating and deep conversation with a small group of audience. This year as well, some of the most inspiring youth will be joining.
Meet Asad J. Malik who tells stories using holographic images. He is a talented Pakistani artist and founder of 1RIC who works exclusively with Augmented Reality applications and utilizes them as a medium for nonfiction storytelling. Asad’s recent project is Terminal 3, that explores the concept of contemporary Muslim identities using AR technology and this will be premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
Get inspired by Zia Chisti who works as a CEO of Afiniti. Before founding his company, Zia was the founding chairman and CEO of Align Technology, a medical technology company that he led from zero to now being an over $1 billion-valued company on the NASDAQ.
Get Amazed by Momina Mustehsan who is a well-known Pakistani singer-songwriter and musician. Mustehsan was born in Quetta and raised in Islamabad. She has earned double major degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the Stony Brook University.
Meet Muhammad Shaheer Niazi who is only 17-year-old and a student currently in his first-year of A-levels. At the age of 16, he participated in the International Young Physicists Tournament, introducing Pakistan to this prestigious event for the first time.
Nabeel, who is the former Director of Entrepreneurship indulged in the space of technology entrepreneurship backed by the Government. He initiated projects like Plan9 – Pakistan’s Largest Technology Incubator, PlanX, Technology Accelerator and TechHub Connect – a co-working space for freelancers, Herself – an initiative to empower women and Whizkids – an initiative to instill an entrepreneurial spirit in school going students.
Empower yourself with Asra Nadeem who looks over the entrepreneurial programs and partnerships at DraperU, a pre-accelerator for global startups tackling the world’s most intractable problems and is also a Partner at DraperU Venture, an early stage venture fund. Other than that, she directly works with governments, universities and international incubators to establish local entrepreneurial hubs, investment opportunities and corporate innovation initiatives.
